As a New Business Account Executive at Mongoose, you’ll be at the forefront of our growth, working exclusively with prospective clients to show them how our innovative solutions can change the game. This isn’t just about hitting quotas—it’s about building meaningful relationships, solving real challenges, and driving impact for schools and their students. What You’ll Do:

Be a Hunter

  • Own the entire sales process, from prospecting to close, and bring new clients into the Mongoose family.
  • Build a robust pipeline of qualified leads through creative prospecting, networking, and follow-up that turns “maybe” into “yes.”
  • Develop tailored outreach strategies that showcase Mongoose’s value in a way that resonates with higher education leaders.
  • Work in partnership with SDR resources to augment your personal prospecting activities

Deliver Winning Solutions

  • Conduct dynamic, personalized product demonstrations that address client challenges and highlight the power of Mongoose’s solutions.
  • Use a consultative selling approach to uncover prospective clients’ goals and challenges, positioning Mongoose as the clear choice to help them succeed.
  • Guide prospective clients through every stage of the decision-making process, from initial contact to contract signature.
  • Deliver deals on schedule by building collaborative project plans with your prospects and hold them accountable to completing their action items on time

Build Relationships That Matter

  • Connect with higher education leaders, understanding their unique needs and challenges while building trust and credibility.
  • Be a partner—not just a salesperson—by focusing on identification of their  problems, aligning Mongoose’s ability to solve their problems, and demonstrating our history of doing so for clients.
  • Travel as needed for customer meetings and industry events

Collaborate for Success

  • Work closely with Marketing to ensure a steady flow of qualified leads and share insights that improve campaign strategies.
  • Partner with Product to stay ahead of the latest features and capabilities, ensuring you can confidently speak to Mongoose’s competitive advantages.
  • Align with the Revenue and Client Success teams to ensure a smooth handoff and long-term client satisfaction.

Measure and Improve

  • Track and manage your pipeline in HubSpot, maintaining spotless records of your activities and opportunities.
  • Regularly analyze your performance metrics and share insights with leadership to continuously improve your strategies.
  • Use data to make informed decisions and crush your quotas like a true sales superstar.

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

A Passion for Closing Deals

  • You live for the thrill of the hunt and the satisfaction of turning prospects into clients.
  • 2-5 years of experience in SaaS sales or higher education technology, with a proven track record of hitting and exceeding quotas.

Consultative Selling Skills

  • You know how to ask the right questions, listen intently, and present solutions that align with client goals.
  • You can simplify complex ideas and make them compelling and actionable for decision-makers.

Relationship-Driven Mindset

  • You’re a people person who can build rapport and trust in any room (or Zoom).
  • You’re motivated by helping others succeed and find joy in being a part of their journey.

Creative and Resilient

  • You’re not afraid to think outside the box to reach prospects in new and innovative ways.
  • You bounce back quickly from setbacks and use every “no” as a stepping stone to the next “yes.”

Data-Driven and Organized

  • You love tracking your progress and using data to guide your approach and improve results.
  • Experience with CRM tools like HubSpot is a huge plus—you know how to keep your pipeline clean and your insights actionable.

Higher Ed Knowledge (a Plus, Not a Must)

  • Familiarity with the higher education space is a bonus, but your willingness to learn and adapt is what matters most.

The salary for this position is $150,000 OTE.
