What is this role all about?

  • Be an outside, hunter-based territory sales executive in a revenue-producing role focused on finding new clients to onboard on our software
  • Independently prospect, nurture, and generate leads to acquire new business by calling on Higher Education decision-makers to build rapport and close self-sourced opportunities.
  • Work with the Marketing Team to prospect leads to generate virtual (zoom) meetings to qualify the prospect’s needs and present our software solution (Cadence)
  • Generate high levels of metric activities meeting daily, weekly, and monthly predetermined sales quotas.
  • Provide weekly/monthly/quarterly forecasting to leadership, focusing on meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Possess a self-generated drive to succeed and expect to deliver results needed to achieve sales targets and quotas.
  • Be an organized, self-starter who utilizes technology to achieve their goals and increase the proliferation of the Mongoose brand nationwide.
  • Report to the Sales Manager, working to develop and close new business opportunities.

What We Are Looking For

  • High pace, effective, daily metric activity, and personal accountability to work under pressure of quota and high production expectations.
  • Ability to clearly articulate and demonstrate strong value propositions through compelling storytelling and data.
  • High aptitude for the use and adoption of technology.
  • Set appointments with target personas using phone, video, email, and social prospecting.
  • Run scheduled appointments (phone and video conferencing), uncovering needs and presenting Mongoose’s process and solutions to close new sales opportunities.
  • Must be able to work closely in a POD team structure and cross-departmentally on strategies to grow revenue and market share within assigned territory.
  • Build new leads and opportunities for an emerging market.
  • Representing Mongoose at Regional and National Conferences to exhibit/present as needed.
  • Travel as needed for conferences
  • Consistency in sales attainment and performance
  • Proven track record of territory management, pipeline development, verifiable sales results.
  • Utilize our client relationship management (CRM – HubSpot) system to track all activity, prospective leads, and deals.
  • Achieve revenue sales targets set by VP of Revenue.

Our Ideal Candidate Has

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum 2-5 years of K-12 and/or Higher Education or SaaS sales experience
  • Proficiency in technology and social media platforms
  • Experience utilizing client relationship management systems (SalesForce or HubSpot)
  • Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
  • High sense of urgency and innate sales talent
  • Hunger to prove ability and develop and grow professionally
  • Professional demeanor and impeccable integrity
  • Proficiency in managing a sales process and a pipeline
  • Experience selling to C-Suite or Director level personas
  • Proven track record of exceeding revenue goals
  • Experience with a complex sales cycle
  • Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
