As our Sales Manager, you’ll play a pivotal role as both a player and a coach—driving your own individual quota while leading and mentoring a team of Senior Strategic Account Executives. You’ll inspire your team by leading from the front, demonstrating what it takes to close deals while fostering a high-performance culture. Reporting to the VP of Revenue, you’ll guide the team to exceed sales goals, drive new business growth, and ensure exceptional client experiences. This is a role for a dynamic leader with a proven track record in SaaS or higher education technology sales, consultative selling expertise, and a passion for coaching and leading by example.

What You’ll Do:

Build a World Class New Business Team

  • Hire,  train, coach and performance manage your sales team
  • Participate in sale calls to provide timely feedback and interventions 
  • Establish best practices which will drive consistent team performance

Training and Develop

  • Partner with the Sales Enablement Manager to develop curriculum which focusses on team needs
  • Participate in training programming on a regular basis
  • Conduct weekly 1:1s and team meetings to focus on enablement to excellence

Collaborate for Success

  • Work closely with Revenue leadership to deliver on the team OKRs and KPIs 
  • Partner with Finance and Senior Leadership on deal strategies
  • Align with the Revenue and Client Success teams to ensure a smooth handoff and long-term client satisfaction.

Measure and Manage

  • Track and manage your team’s pipeline in HubSpot, ensuring spotless records of all activities and opportunities.
  • Regularly analyze team performance metrics and share insights with sales executives to continuously improve performance.
  • Forecast team performance on a weekly basis to ensure accurate reporting. 

Deliver New Business Results 

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly team revenue targets
  • Deliver personal quota as assigned

Evaluate and Expand Partnership and New Market Opportunities

  • Develop pipeline of opportunities for partner selling
  • Manage existing partner programs
  • Evaluate opportunities to expand market focus a assigned by Senior Leadership

What You’ll Bring to the Table:

Empowering Player-Coach Leadership:

  • A proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing sales teams while carrying and achieving your own individual quota.
  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS or higher education technology sales, with a strong track record of individual sales success and team leadership.

Strategic Sales Expertise:

  • A deep understanding of consultative selling and proven success in executing strategies that drive new business and account expansion.
  • Expertise in pipeline management, sales forecasting, and developing scalable sales processes.

Data-Driven & Impact-Focused:

  • A strong ability to analyze data and use insights to guide strategy, optimize performance, and ensure alignment with broader revenue goals.
  • A focus on results that impact not just the numbers but also the people—your team and clients alike.

Collaboration at the Core:

  • Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills, with experience partnering with Marketing, Product, and Customer Success teams to create seamless client experiences.
  • A belief in the power of teamwork to drive remarkable outcomes.

Familiarity with higher education or SaaS sales environments, with a passion for helping institutions improve communication and engagement through technology.

The salary for this position ranges from $230,000-$275,000 OTE, depending on experience and qualifications.
