Content Marketing & Communications Director
At Mongoose, we empower colleges and universities through our intuitive AI-driven engagement platform, designed to foster meaningful connections with students, parents, and alumni. We are seeking an experienced, strategic, and hands-on Content Marketing & Communications Director with an audience-first mindset to lead our content marketing and communications efforts.
As a member of our dynamic team, you will play a critical role in building a comprehensive content marketing program from the ground up, ensuring Mongoose becomes a go-to source in the Higher Ed market. You’ll manage our social media platforms, editorial calendar, and optimize our content for SEO. You’ll also work closely with PR agencies to elevate Mongoose’s brand through earned media and strategic communication. Your key success metrics will include increasing the volume and conversion of inbound organic leads, and accelerating the buyer’s journey.

What You’ll Do:
Content Strategy:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive content marketing strategy that drives lead generation, brand awareness, customer expansion, and customer retention.
- Collaborate with product, sales, and customer success teams to support product launches and customer education.
- Oversee the creation of high-quality content that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our Higher Ed audience.
Communications Strategy:
- Manage media relations, press releases, and pitches to boost Mongoose’s visibility in the Higher Ed space.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to build relationships with key media and influencers.
Content Production & Distribution:
- Create and oversee thought leadership articles, white papers, case studies, blogs, videos, webinars, and podcasts.
- Leverage AI and content tools (e.g., Canva, Figma, Biteable) to enhance content production efficiency.
- Ensure effective distribution across digital channels (website, social media, email).
- Use data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of content and communications efforts, refining strategies to optimize performance.
- From time to time, support RFP responses.
SEO Strategy:
- Work with an agency and the marketing team to develop an SEO strategy, improving Mongoose’s organic search performance.
- Conduct keyword research, implement best practices, and monitor SEO analytics to refine content strategy.
- Stay current with SEO trends, algorithm updates, and best practices.
Social Media Strategy & Management:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive social media strategy that aligns with Mongoose’s overall marketing and content goals.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of engaging content across social media platforms (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, etc.), ensuring consistency in tone and messaging.
- Monitor social media performance through analytics tools, adjusting strategies to optimize engagement, follower growth, and brand awareness.
- Engage with online communities, influencers, and industry leaders to enhance Mongoose’s presence in the Higher Ed space.
- Stay up-to-date on social media trends, platform updates, and best practices to ensure Mongoose remains competitive and relevant
Brand Consistency:
- Maintain a strong and cohesive brand identity across all content.
- Develop and oversee content guidelines to ensure alignment with Mongoose’s brand voice.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align content with broader business goals and marketing initiatives.
What You’ll Bring to the Table:
- 5+ years of experience in content marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
- Proven success in developing and executing content strategies, ideally within the B2B tech space or Higher Ed sector.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an eye for detail.
- Experience with SEO, keyword research, and content analytics tools.
- Familiarity with content management systems, social media, and marketing automation platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The salary for this position ranges from $100,000 to $130,000, depending on experience and qualifications.
